How much aid can you get for an energy renovation in Luxembourg?
An energy renovation in Luxembourg is financed by combining three schemes: Klimabonus 2026 subsidies — up to €15,000 for a geothermal heat pump, performance bonus included —, the super-reduced 3% VAT and the climate loan. Insulation is subsidised per square metre, renewable heating systems with fixed amounts.
The principle is simple: the more complete your renovation, the more the state contributes. From three different types of work carried out within 24 months, a 15% global bonus is added to all your subsidies, and modest-income households receive an additional 25% top-up.

Which works qualify for the Klimabonus 2026? +
Insulation (walls, roof, floor), window replacement, air-water and geothermal heat pumps, pellet boilers and controlled mechanical ventilation. Each item has its own rate, with a bonus if you reach a higher performance level.
What is the maximum subsidy amount? +
Up to €100/m² for wall insulation, €200/m² for windows and €15,000 for a geothermal heat pump (bonus included). With the 15% global bonus and the 25% social top-up the amounts rise further: the exact total depends on your project — the simulator works it out in 30 seconds.
Does the 3% VAT apply to my home? +
The super-reduced 3% VAT (instead of 17%) applies to renovation works on a home over 10 years old used as a primary residence — a 14-point saving on the invoice.
When is the aid paid out? +
The application is filed after the works are completed, with the invoices, via MyGuichet. Payment follows once the administration validates the file.
